The drugs which interact with Proventil are potassium sparing diuretic, digoxin, antidepressants like amitriptyline, doxepin, imipramine and nortriptyline, Mono amino oxidase inhibitor like isocarboxazid, phenelzine and selegiline, bronchodilators like levalbuterol, terbutaline, salmeterol, metaproterenol, and isoproterenol. Beta adrenergic blockers like atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol which are generally used in patients suffering cardiovascular diseases should not be used or used with caution if they suffer from asthma concomitantly. This is because; the beta adrenergic blockers further produce bronchospasm.
